Day 14/30!

We are two whole weeks into the challenge! Tomorrow will be halfway! You may either be thinking time is moving slowly or that it’s flying by - either way if you’re sticking with it, you’re doing a great job!!


Did you know this past Friday was termed “quitter’s day” because around 23% of people have already given up on a new year’s goal or resolution they set? By the end of January that number jumps up to 43%.


If there is one thing this challenge teaches you - I would want it to be discipline. Discipline is what is going to carry your health and fitness habits, not motivation. Motivation comes in waves and we can’t always control it, you will not always be motivated, that is just a fact! However, discipline is something you can control, you have the power to be in control and decide what you do.


For this challenge, you may have been motivated the first few days, you may still be motivated right now, but that’s not what is carrying you through. What is carrying you through is the discipline of the challenge. Knowing you are supposed to be doing x,y & z and the challenge is holding you accountable. But when it comes to the end of the month, you will need to hold yourself accountable and be disciplined!


There are going to be days and times where you don’t feel like meal prepping, going for a walk, going to the gym, fueling your body correctly, etc, but try to remember these things are making you a better, happier & stronger version of yourself and that’s the ultimate goal!


Waking up early is hard, meal prepping on the weekend is hard, dragging yourself to the gym is hard but not doing these things is also hard - it is HARD to feel like an unhealthy version of yourself. So I challenge you to do it unmotivated! Practice over the next few weeks even with little tasks such as meal prepping a breakfast or getting up early to go for a walk or to the gym.


Staying disciplined 100% of the time is not realistic but on the days you’re really not feeling like it, try to show up for yourself halfway, or even 25% and I promise it will make a huge difference!!
