DAY 3 - RELEARNING HUNGER, FULLNESS AND WEEKEND AWARENESS

By Day 3, many people start to notice subtle shifts — hunger feels different, fullness feels clearer, and meals start to come together a bit easier.

Today is about paying attention to those signals, especially as routines change! Today is the first weekend day of the challenge and weekends tend to ask something different of us.

Hunger Isn’t an Emergency

When added sugar steps back, hunger cues often become easier to notice — but that doesn’t mean they always arrive neatly or on schedule.

Notice:

  • When hunger shows up

  • How strong it feels

  • Whether it builds gradually or arrives suddenly

If your weekend schedule looks different, hunger might too. That’s not a problem — it’s information.

Fullness Is a Spectrum

Weekends often come with:

  • Different meal timing

  • Social meals

  • Eating out or eating on the go

This can make fullness feel harder to read. Instead of aiming for “perfect,” simply notice:

  • When meals feel grounding

  • When they feel rushed

  • How your body feels afterward

There’s no need to change anything today. Just observe.

Satisfaction Still Matters (Especially on Weekends)

One reason weekends can feel challenging is that food often plays a bigger role — socially, emotionally, or as a form of relaxation.

If meals or snacks feel unsatisfying, cravings can feel louder.

Notice:

  • Which meals truly satisfy you

  • Which leave you searching for something more

  • Whether protein, fat, or volume made a difference

Satisfaction isn’t indulgence — it’s a form of nourishment.

A Note on Added Sugar & Weekends

Weekends are often where added sugar shows up most easily — not because of lack of discipline, but because routines are looser and food is more social.

You might notice:

  • More temptation around desserts or drinks

  • Less structure around meals

  • Old habits resurfacing

If this happens, respond gently. Awareness is the goal.

Ask yourself:

  • What’s actually appealing here — sweetness, connection, rest?

  • Would nourishment help before deciding?

A Gentle Practice for Today

Choose one meal or snack today to slow down slightly — even just a few bites. Notice hunger, satisfaction, and fullness without trying to control them.

A Reminder

Weekend days don’t need different rules — they just need more awareness.

Hunger, fullness, and satisfaction are skills you’re relearning in real life, not in perfect conditions.

Tomorrow, we’ll begin noticing energy — how food choices support (or drain) you throughout the day.

As always, feel free to comment any questions, situations or observations that may arise for you!
