DAY 6 - HABITS, ROUTINES & PATTERNS
By Day 6, something interesting often starts to happen...
The challenge begins to feel less like a set of rules and more like a rhythm. Awareness around food choices, cravings, energy, and mood start to settle into the background.
Today is about noticing patterns — the habits that shape how and when you eat without much conscious thought.
How Habits Form Around Sugar
Added sugar often becomes part of routines rather than decisions. A sweet coffee in the morning, something sugary in the afternoon, dessert at night...these habits don’t come from lack of willpower. They form because sugar reliably delivers quick comfort or energy.
When sugar is removed, those routines don’t disappear, they become visible. You may notice moments where your body isn’t asking for sugar, but your routine is.
That’s valuable information!
Today, notice:
The times of day when you usually reached for something sweet
The situations that triggered cravings (stress, fatigue, boredom, celebration)
The routines that felt hardest to change
A Gentle Practice for Today
Choose one routine moment — maybe a time when you’d usually reach for sugar — and pause.
Notice;
What you’re feeling
What you’re needing
What feels most supportive right now
A Reminder
Habits are not personal failures. They’re learned responses. As awareness grows, habits evolve naturally!
