DAY 6 - REFLECTING ON HABITS

By now, habits start to feel more visible... not because you’re doing anything wrong, but because awareness has increased. The moments when you’d usually reach for something sweet, eat out of routine, or respond automatically can feel especially noticeable now.

It’s important to note that - habits don’t break in a few days!

They form over months or years, and simply noticing them, again and again is part of how change happens. Today wasn’t about stopping habits. It was about staying present when they appeared.

You may have noticed:

  • Familiar urges showing up at the same times of day

  • Automatic behaviors tied to stress, boredom, or fatigue

  • Moments where awareness came after the habit rather than before

Staying Present in Habit Moments

When a habitual urge shows up, try one small pause. It doesn’t need to be long.

Ask yourself:

  • What’s happening right now?

  • What am I feeling?

  • What do I actually need in this moment?

You don’t have to change what you do next. The pause itself helps interrupt autopilot and builds awareness over time.

Some days habits feel easier to navigate. Other days they feel louder. That doesn’t mean you’re moving backward. Habits lose their grip gradually as the body feels more nourished, energy becomes steadier, and awareness grows.

As you reflect on today, consider:

  • Which habits felt strongest?

  • When did you notice them most clearly?

  • Did awareness show up before, during, or after?

Every time you notice, you’re practicing something new.

Tomorrow, we’ll turn our attention to social settings... where habits, sugar, and routines often overlap!

Keep up the great work!
